2011 TRUNK SHOWS

All Things Gingerbread

Join our experienced teachers, Marilyn, Nancy and Susan at the Grove Park Inn in
Asheville, NC on November 18th, 19th and 20th for a needlepoint retreat. With the National Gingerbread competition at the Grove Park Inn as our backdrop, we will offer two unique class options.

With each class piece, we want to introduce you to a range of new stitches and threads. These classes are both appropriate for an Advanced Beginner stitcher who has knowledge of the basic stitches.

1. The Gingerbread Houses

Each Gingerbread house is on 18-count canvas and stands 3.5" when finished. Choose from one of six Gingerbread House designs:

Orange Slice house Lifesaver Roof house

Peppermint Discs Roof Necco Wafer house

Fruit Slice house Candy Cane house

Class is $395 and includes:

~ canvas, thread pack, detailed stitch guide
~ wine and cheese "Meet & Greet" in the hospitality suite of the Grove Park Inn on Friday evening
~ Buffet breakfast on Saturday & Sunday mornings
~ Refreshments during class sessions
~Access to hospitality suite during "open stitching" times and class review on Saturday and Sunday afternoon
~ Access to gingerbread themed trunk show, featuring designs by A Collection of Designs, Associated Talents, Needle Deeva, Susan Roberts and many others!

As part of the class package with the Gingerbread Houses, we offer FREE FINISHING of your class piece. The offer is available only until October 1st, 2012. This offer is ONLY available with the Gingerbread Houses and does not apply for the Sugar & Spice class option.

2. Sugar and Spice Gingerbread House

The Sugar and Spice Gingerbread House is 14" x 12" on 13-count canvas. Designed by Shelly Tribbey, this whimsical design will have a custom stitch guide by Susan Stallings and decorative threads to make a one-of-a-kind piece.

Class is $395 and includes the following:

~ Canvas, thread pack, detailed stitch guide by Susan Stallings
~ Wine and Cheese "Meet & Greet" in the hospitality suite of the Grove Park Inn on Friday evening
~ Buffet breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings
~ Refreshments during class sessions
~ Access to hospitality suite for "open stitching" and class review on Saturday and Sunday
~ Access to gingerbread themed trunk show, featuring designs by A Collection of Designs, Associated Talents, Needle Deeva, Susan Roberts and many others!

Weekend Itinerary:

Friday evening:

5-7pm: wine and cheese "Meet & Greet" at the hospitality suite; trunk show opens for participants

Saturday:

9-1pm: class instruction

2-6: optional drop-in "open stitching" and class review in hospitality suite; access to trunk show

Sunday:

9-12: class instruction

1-4: optional drop-in "open stitching" and class review in hospitality suite; access to trunk show

After class finishes each day, we invite you to enjoy the Asheville area and its wide range of attractions, including art galleries, the famous Biltmore home and winery (shown below), restaurants, the Grove Park spa, and many, many other events. Of course, we also welcome you to spend time in the hospitality suite to stitch with us or ask any questions about topics/stitches covered in the morning's class session.

Special rates have been reserved for Needlepoint.Com stitch retreat attendees. Our rooms will be $273/night for a single individual; $298/night for two adults sharing the room. Needlepoint Groups Schedule:

First Wednesday of every Month: 9:30 - 11:30am Christmas Ornaments/Stockings & Gingerbread Groupies

--> Bring your Christmas ornaments, Gingerbread houses, Christmas stockings and more. Stitch with others who have Christmas-themed projects and share ideas about stitches, threads, etc.

First Friday of every Month: 9:30 - 11:30am Elizabeth Bradley

--> Whether it's a mini kit or a rug, bring in your Elizabeth Bradley piece to share in the camaraderie of these classic designs. If you need help or have questions about your piece, we're here to help.
